Upcoming Congresses

See you in Ghent in 2021

Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,

Time is flying, spring is coming, but the coronavirus and COVID-19 are still dominating our social live in entire Europe. Nevertheless, we maintain hope and look already forward to a carefree summer in which we can meet again. Despite all obstacles, we will organize the 33rd EAVA Congress from July 28 to July 31, 2021, in whatever format. In the most favorable scenario this will be on site in Ghent, in the most unfavorable scenario completely virtual, or in hybrid form. We will wait as long as possible to make the final decision, which we will announce at the end of April.

In the meantime, we cordially invite and encourage you to submit your abstracts before April 15, 2021. This year’s edition will have a special focus on translational and interdisciplinary anatomy, which will be supported by two keynote lectures and a special session on this topic. Abstracts covering all fields of Veterinary Anatomy are welcome, but we especially encourage contributions within this theme.

Abstracts should be submitted through the standardized template which can be found on our website. The deadline for abstract submission is April 15, 2021, and the organizing committee aims at delivering the decision of acceptance to the authors not later than May 20. All accepted abstracts will be published in our journal “Anatomia, Histologia, Embryologia” in a supplement which will be hopefully available at the time of the congress.

Please, visit our website http://EAVA2020.ugent.be regularly because you can find the most up-to-date information there.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all again. And remember: stay positive, but test negative.

Best regards, on behalf of the organizing committee,

Prof. dr. Wim Van den Broeck.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2021. Stay safe and healthy, take care of you and your loved ones, and I really hope we can meet in July 2021.

Prof. dr. Wim Van den Broeck.

The 33rd Congress of European Association of Veterinary Anatomists in Ghent, Belgium

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to attend the XXXIIIrd Congress of the European Association of Veterinary Anatomists, in Ghent, Belgium, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

We anticipate that the Congress will attract over 200 scientists from all over the world, working within the fields of veterinary anatomy, histology and / or embryology to share their knowledge and ideas.

We are planning an outstanding scientific program, that will not only be a platform to showcase exciting new developments in veterinary morphology, but will also demonstrate the important role of veterinary morphology in underpinning different aspects of cutting-edge veterinary and human medicine.

Of course, a long tradition of EAVA congresses has been the vibrant social calendar. The XXXIIIrd EAVA Congress will be no different and participants will have ample opportunity to enjoy the food, beer(s) and hospitality that Belgium (and Ghent) is famous for.

In addition to state-of-the-art science, Ghent offers many wonderful tourist activities. While the iconic Medieval castle, the stunning Ghent towers and the pleasant historical city center provide the backdrop to this exciting event, Ghent is also the gateway to many unique Belgian experiences.

We look forward to warmly welcoming you and your family to Belgium for this unforgettable experience.

Kind regards, on behalf of the local organizing committee,

Wim Van den Broeck.
