See you in Ghent in 2021
Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
On Thursday, April 29, we had a meeting with the EAVA Board, and based on the current situation in entire Europe regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to organize the 33rd EAVA Congress completely virtually. Although we would like to see each other live, discussing scientific topics and enjoying the well-known and world-famous Belgian beers, we think that human health comes first, and therefore a digital conference is the best option.
The discussion with the board has shown us that there are a lot of possibilities to organize a virtual meeting, and we guarantee that we can set up a platform that is accessible and easy to use for everyone. For the moment, we already received more than 75 abstracts, so from scientific point of view, the 33rd EAVA Congress will certainly be a success. At least one advantage of a virtual meeting, is the lower cost. The exact registration fee has not been determined yet, but we can already assure that it will certainly be less than 90 euros. We hope that this low registration fee will convince more (young) scientists to participate in the congress, and that is why we are once again extending the deadline for submitting the abstracts by 14 days. So, you can submit your abstracts up to and including May 31, 2021.
More information about the (preliminary) scientific program, the keynote speakers, the used platform, etc. will be announced on the EAVA2020 website soon. So please check this site regularly.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you to the virtual 33rd EAVA Congress. We are certain that you will greatly enjoy this major scientific event and together with your help and despite the corona pandemic, we will make the 33rd EAVA Congress one to never forget, but hopefully also one to never experience again !
Cordial greetings, also on behalf of the organizing committee.
Prof. dr. Wim Van den Broeck.
