Temporary or Locum hire for Veterinary Anatomist or DVM with experience in teaching gross anatomy
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) on the island of St. Kitts in the Eastern Caribbean is seeking Veterinary Anatomists or DVMs and/or PhDs with experience in teaching pre-veterinary and first- and second-year gross anatomy on a temporary or locum basis as needed.
Who We Are
RUSVM is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and offers an accelerated DVM program. With 3 semesters per year, new students enter the program in the Fall (Sept-Dec), Spring (Jan-April), and Summer (May-August). Hence, there are opportunities for qualified individuals to travel and contribute to a learning environment that may cover some or all of a 14-week semester during the fall, spring, or summer.
The successful candidate will have teaching roles in the Vet Prep and DVM programs involving a team approach with faculty and staff with emphasis on structure and function, which encompasses lectures and laboratories. The candidate may also be asked to assist with evaluation of student success associated with theoretical and practical examinations and student review sessions.
Vet Prep-Structural and Functional Biology and Gross Anatomy I and II will involve approximately 30-40 hours/week inclusive of lectures and labs.
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree or a PhD degree is required.
• Candidates will have a record of teaching with a strong commitment for enhancing the learning environment to support the educational experience in the Pre-Veterinary and DVM curriculums.
Remuneration will include a weekly salary, roundtrip airfare, lodging, and rental car.
